Auditions for Seussical The Musical - Jr. Cast

The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.

Performance Dates: September 14-15, 2024 (3 shows)

Tech Week: September 8-13, 2024 (no excused absences)

Show Location: Riverfront Park, “The Ginkgo” Amphitheater: 3 North Miami Avenue, Miamisburg, OH

The participation fee for this production is $100. This includes a show t-shirt, and costumes.

Auditions open for actors that just completed grades K-2!

Audition Dates: Tuesday, July 9, 4:30-6:00 pm & Thursday, July 11, 4:30-6:00 pm

Location: Tuesday, July 9 at Market Square: 4 North Main Street, Miamisburg

Thursday, July 11 at MCCN: 224 E Maple Avenue, Miamisburg

Preparation: Actors need to prepare 1-2 minute song. It should NOT be from Seussical the Musical. Recorded music only, such as a karaoke track or youtube. NO acapella.

Audition Options

In-Person Auditions: Actors will audition in groups during a 15-minute audition slot.

Virtual Auditions: Virtual (video) auditions will be accepted until the end of the day on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
